Frequently Asked Questions
What does Amy Brin Consulting do?
I help mission-driven organizations, leaders, and boards move from good intentions to bold, sustainable impact. My work focuses on organizational assessments, board development, executive coaching, facilitation, and strategic planning—all rooted in a values-based leadership approach I call Soft Heart. Strong Back.
What types of organizations does Amy work with?
I partner with nonprofits, associations, coalitions, foundations, and mission-driven businesses. While my roots are in healthcare and community impact, my clients span industries that care deeply about people, purpose, and performance.
Do you only work with nonprofits?
No. While many of my clients are nonprofits, I also work with foundations, professional associations, and businesses navigating growth, change, or board development. If your organization is mission-driven and committed to leadership growth, I can help.
What is an organizational assessment, and why would my organization need one?
An organizational assessment is a clear-eyed look at your strengths, challenges, and opportunities across governance, finance, fundraising, human resources, operations, and programs. I gather data, listen deeply, and deliver practical insights. The result is a roadmap that helps you move forward with clarity and confidence—without the guesswork.
How do you approach board development and governance training?
I believe boards should be more than seat-fillers. Through retreats, workshops, and governance training, I help boards understand their fiduciary responsibilities, clarify roles, and learn to operate as strategic partners. My sessions are interactive, engaging, and designed to build trust, accountability, and alignment.
What can I expect from executive coaching with Amy?
Executive coaching offers you a trusted thought partner. Together, we’ll focus on aligning your values with your leadership, strengthening communication and boundaries, navigating change with resilience, and leading with clarity. Coaching is tailored to you—whether you’re a new executive, seasoned CEO, or board leader looking to deepen your impact.
Do you offer speaking or facilitation services for conferences and retreats?
Yes. I am a keynote speaker and facilitator known for blending storytelling, strategy, and soul. Whether leading a board retreat or addressing hundreds at a conference, I create engaging, thought-provoking experiences that leave audiences inspired and equipped with practical tools.
What does a typical engagement look like?
No two organizations are the same, but most engagements begin with a discovery session to understand your needs. From there, I design a customized scope—ranging from a short-term assessment or retreat to a multi-year leadership development plan. Every engagement is built to be practical, actionable, and aligned with your needs.
How long do consulting projects usually take?
Project timelines vary. Some retreats or assessments are completed within weeks, while strategic planning or executive coaching programs may run several months. I work with you to set clear timelines up front and keep momentum moving.
What is your approach to facilitation?
I facilitate with structure and intention—ensuring discussions are efficient, inclusive, and aligned to outcomes. My role is to create space where every voice is heard, hard truths are named, and groups leave with clarity, alignment, and actionable next steps.
Where are you based? Do you work with clients virtually or nationally?
I am based in the U.S. and work with clients across the country. Many of my services are offered virtually, and I also travel for in-person engagements including retreats, trainings, and keynotes.
How do we get started?
Start with a no-cost discovery session. We’ll talk through your goals, challenges, and opportunities, and explore how I can support you. From there, I’ll design a plan that fits your organization’s needs.
What are your fees?
Every engagement is customized, so pricing varies based on scope and duration. I am committed to delivering high-value outcomes and will provide a clear proposal up front. Many organizations also use professional development or capacity-building funds to support this work.
